Most haunted village Pluckley bans Halloween

RESIDENTS of Pluckley, famous for being the most haunted village in the UK are so fed-up of their village being taken over every year that they have banned Halloween.

Villagers say that guisers invade the village and cause traffic problems and vandalism to the area which is reported to have at least 12 spectres including a highwayman and poltergeist in the local pub.

Residents have tried in the past to set up entertainment on the night but has flopped due to increased traffic chaos and the village becoming gridlocked. This Halloween in the Kent hamlet as no festivities will be held and vistors are encouraged to stay away.

A notice on the village website said: "There will be no barbecue, no hog roast, no beer tent, no fun fair and there will be no ghost tours. In fact, unless you are coming for a quiet drink, may we suggest you visit one of the many other attractions in Kent for Halloween."
