Pupil made to smoke 42 cigarettes as punishment

A Malaysian schoolboy was made to smoke over 40 cigarettes by his teacher.

The 16-year-old was forced to smoke four cigarettes at a time for over two hours as a punishment for finding a cigarette in his locker. 

Mohd Alif Arifin was sent home after the torturous incident which left him unable to eat for five days. And school officials told his aunt he was "unwell".

The boy suffered swollen lips and was left continuously coughing after the punishment.

A school official said the institute had apologised to the boy's family, who lodged a police report when they found out about the punishment.
