Dog seeks home through dating ad

Kia

A DOG rehoming group in Glasgow has came up with a novel way of finding a new home for one of their pooches...by a dating advert.

The ad is being ran ahead of a valentine's weekend rehoming event organised by Dogs Trust Glasgow.

Kia, the two-year-old German Shepherd which the advert is featuring to promote the event is one of a hundred dogs which people can visit at the event.

In the advert she is described as: "Dark blonde beauty WLTM adult companion for frolics on the beach and candlelit suppers. GSOH, friendly and solvent! May be open to offers from cats."

Anyone interested in adopting a canine will be taken on a doggy 'blind-date'  where professional canine carers at the centre will choose their perfect partner based on their personality and lifestyle.

Potential candidates can then become acquainted with their 'blind-date' by taking them on a walk around the centre grounds.

Sandra Downie, Manager of Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre said: "Last year our Valentines 'blind dates' were a great success as dogs usually overlooked in kennels found fantastic new homes.

"It gave them the opportunity to show people what loveable, playful companions they could be, and we really hope Kia will have just as much luck as the dogs last year."

The event runs from Saturday the 14th to Sunday the 15th of February from 12pm-4pm at the Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre, 315 Hamilton Road,

Uddingston.
