DID you know that, according to laws in Australia, it is illegal to dress up as Batman? And did you know that, in France, it is considered a crime to address a pig as Napoleon? No, neither did we.
According to an article on the Divine Caroline website, Britain is one of the many countries to have crazy, archaic rules in their lawbooks. For example, it is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament, the reason being that technically anyone who dies within the walls of Parliament is automatically granted a Royal state funeral.
Also, it is legal to kill a Scotsman in the city of York, provided he has a bow-and-arrow in his possession. And if the head of a dead whale is found on one of the UK's beaches, it immediately becomes the property of the king.
However, if a tail is found, the queen has first access so that she can use the spare bones for her corsets.
