Eight-year-old wins divorce hearing

AN EIGHT-year-old girl has won a divorce from her 28-year-old husband following a hearing at a Yemeni court.

Nojud Mohammed Ali won her case after the court heard her unemployed father forced her into the arranged marriage more than two months ago.

"I am happy that I am divorced now. I will be able to go back to school,'' she said.
