Cash in on views of town centre

Residents in Carluke are being asked for their opinions of their town centre.

And as part of the survey, any of the 1500 homes who have been posted a household survey can enter a prize draw with the chance of winning £50, £30 and £20 to spend locally.

To be entered into the competition all you have to do is provide your name and address when you return the survey in the reply-paid envelope.

The postal survey asks a variety of questions about Carluke Town Centre, including how often you visit, what you like and dislike, how much you spend and what you feel could be done to improve the centre for the future.

Councillor Chris Thompson, the chair of the council's Enterprise Resources Committee, said: "I hope as many people as possible who receive this survey through their doors will spare a few minutes of their time to complete it and send it back to us.

"It will enable the consultants to build up a picture of what local people think about their town centre.

"The prize draw is an added incentive but the most important factor is this survey allows local people to express their opinions."

South Lanarkshire Council, in partnership with Carluke Development Trust has commissioned EKOS consultants to carry out the study
