FOUR Strathaven Academy pupils are enjoying their success as the school’s 2008 Musicians of the Year.
There was fierce competition between pupils to secure a place in the finals at both the junior and senior events. In the junior section, Jonathan Kennedy won the top prize with Kirsty MacLeod was in second place.
In the senior section, Alison Nee took first place, and Donald Kerr was second.
The judges were Elspeth Banks, head teacher, along with two of the school’ s music instructors. The winners were announced after a superb afternoon of musical performance from all of the competitors.
Mrs Banks said: “A huge congratulations goes to all of the pupils who participated.
“The school is fortunate to have so many gifted young people.”
