Round Table and Golf Club team up in charity effort

STRATHAVEN Golf Club and Strathaven and District Round Table are to join together to help local organisations though a charity golf day at Strathaven Golf Club.

The competition will be held on Tuesday, July 29, and will be played using a fun two-ball scramble format.

It will be open to gentlemen and ladies, Strathaven members and non-members with an official handicap, at an entry fee of £10 minimum with tee-times available from 7.30am to 3.15pm.

There are also a limited number of corporate times available.

This is an ideal opportunity to play the course in its centenary year while raising funds for good causes.

Golf club captain Robert Jamieson said: “We’re happy that will be able to support local good causes in what is our centenary year.”

Tim Whittaker, Round Table chairman added: “We’d really like to thank the golf club for their generosity in making the course available.

“We’ve already been offered some valuable prizes and the format looks like it’ll make for a fun day.”

A substantial prize fund will be available covering the first three teams as well as longest drive, closest to the pin and other fun prizes.

Full catering facilities will also be available on the day.

Numbers, however, will be limited and organisers expect the event to be very popular so early booking is strongly advised.

To book tee-off time or if anyone would like to offer prizes or sponsorship contact the Round Table at their website or e-mail contact@sadrt.co.uk.
