STRATHAVEN-based Greystone Plumbing Limited has won a top customer service award from developers CALA Homes (West) Limited — for the second consecutive year.
The award for customer service back office team of the year was presented to the company at a ceremony attended by more than 200 guests at Airth Castle Hotel, near Stirling, last week.
Greystone, of Townhead Street, are an independent plumbing and heating contractor covering central Scotland from Edinburgh to the Clyde coast.
They have been operating for 28 years since the company’s inception in 1980. Clients include Cala Homes, Miller Homes, George Wimpey Homes, Bett Homes, Persimmon, Manor Kingdom and Bryant/Taylor Woodrow.
Linda Thorburn, managing director of Greystone Plumbing, said: “We have 15 full-time staff in the office to control and oversee the day-to-day operations.
"Our workforce consists of between 60-70 men who are all employed directly. This, we believe, enables us to deliver a better quality of service than is generally available in today’s marketplace.”
Ian MacRae, head of customer service at CALA, said: “We are delighted to present Greystone Plumbing with this award for the second year running.
“It pays tribute to those who operate often ‘behind the scenes,’ yet who provide an excellent service to us.”
Greystone employee Stevie Logan was highly commended in the Tradesman of the Year category for his quality of work on CALA’s developments in the west of Scotland.
Guest speakers at the ceremony included former Scotland goalkeeper and radio presenter Alan Rough; Institute of Customer Service chief executive David Parsons; and after-dinner speaker Willie Allan. Paula Sage, Bafta Scotland award winner 2004, represented the nominated charity, Enable Scotland.
Over £3000 was raised on the evening and this sum was matched by CALA Homes.
