CHAPELTON Bowling Club are holding a come and try outdoor bowls event on Wednesday, May 14, from 6.30pm onwards.
Bowls will be provided, although those who go along are asked to take flat, smooth-soled shoes if they have them (some shoes are available at the green).
CHAPELTON Church Social Committee are holding a table top sale in the church hall on Saturday from 10am till noon.
Admission is free, though the United Guild will have a baking stall and tea and coffee will also be on sale.
Anyone wishing to book a table, which costs £7, should phone Rosaleen on 300351.
Donations for the church table can be handed in at the hall tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm.
CHAPELTON Indoor Bowling Club played their club champion and mixed pairs events.
Jean Southern presented prizes to the following winners: ladies singles — Phyllis Brierley; runner-up — Elma Tulley; gents singles — Tom Frame; runner-up — Gavin Lennox; mixed pairs — Tom Frame and Rose King; runners-up — Beth Sadler and John Southern; club champion — Beth Sadler; runner-up — Michael Lean; Celebration Cup — Gavin Lennox; Perpetual Points Trophy — Jim Simpson; runner-up — Marjory McPherson; Junior Cup — Scott Frame.
President Robert Perratt thanked everyone for their support.
He also stated he would take over the presidency for another year.
Other officials are Beth Sadler, Bert Dempster, Tom Frame, Michael Lean, Gordon Sadler, Rose King, Mary Dempster, Bessie Catani, Rachel Bennett and committee members.
A LUNCH in support of Christian Aid will be held in the church hall on Tuesday, May 13, from noon till 2pm.
