AS a result of a successful application to the Co-operative Community Grant Scheme, the Heritage Group have produced a new booklet entitled The Rights-of-Way of Stonehouse.
The booklet highlights the many pathways around Stonehouse, promotes access to the countryside and gives a greater knowledge and understanding of the environment for those seeking to explore the area.
The publication describes the many historical sites to be found in Stonehouse, as well as detailing the abundance of wildlife thriving on our doorstep.
Thirty-two pages in length, the booklet provides readers with many photographs and illustrations of the walks.
Also included is a map, which details the rights-of-way and legal rights of both walkers and landowners.
The Heritage Group hope the publication will encourage access to the countryside and a greater respect for the preservation of these ancient pathways.
The booklet is available for £1 from the Public Library, the Development Trust Office and the Heritage Centre at 4/5 The Cross.
