NEWFIELD Primary pupils said a fond farewell to two members of staff at the end of term prize giving last week.

Mrs Danks received a standing ovation from staff, parents and pupils and was presented with a bouquet of flowers. A very popular member of staff, she showed commitment not only to the school, but also to the community of Stonehouse.

Principal teacher Mrs McSorland, who has helped the school achieve Gold Health Promotion and three green flags as part of the Eco Flag initiative, was also presented with flowers at the assembly.

She has worked at Newfield for 13 years.

Head teacher Mrs Nan Burrell, said: “Both will be missed greatly and everyone at Newfield wishes them all the best as they move on to their next adventure.”
