ST Andrew’s Hospice will receive a substantial boost following a successful charity night at the Violet Social Club on Saturday.
So far the event has raised £1500 and organisers hope for much more from the sale of an autographed Glasgow Rangers strip. Also still to be sold is a signed Motherwell FC football which includes the signature of the late Phil O’Donnell.
The event was organised by the family and friends of Elaine Bell who died earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. Elaine was a popular figure in the village and her family and friends felt a charity fund-raiser would be a good way of celebrating her life.
A capacity audience attended on the evening, which featured many prizes donated for the occasion.
