Water mains work competed

WATER mains renewal work has now been completed in Bellshill.

Scottish Water have completed the pipework in a large number of streets throughout the town. The works, which included 7.4km of water mains being replaced, cost £733,000.

Steven Duncan, project manager, said: “The area served by this water main now has a modern, secure pipe that is less prone to bursts. This will dramatically reduce the likelihood of interruptions to supply and provide the people of Bellshill with a better standard of service.

“Constant communication with the community helped make sure that parents warned their children not to play near the construction site and ensured residents were kept aware of any interruptions to supply, road closures or traffic management.”
