A QUANTITY of illegal drugs were discovered in a car in Bellshill Road, Motherwell, at about 2pm on August 22.
The 37-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and charged with Misuse of Drugs Act offences.
The man’s home, in Bellshill, was later searched during which a further quantity of drugs were allegedly recovered. In total, diazepam with a street value of a four-figure sum was said to have been found.
AN intruder broke into a flat in Draffen Tower, Motherwell, between 6pm and 9.50pm on Sunday. Anyone who has any information on this incident should contact PC Burns at Motherwell Police Office.
POLICE this week recovered stolen property from a house in Barons Tower, Motherwel.
At about 2.35pm on August 18 officers recovered a 50-inch Samsung TV which had been stolen during a housebreaking.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with reset.
Constable Derek McWhinnie said: "Knowingly taking possession of stolen property is a serious offence. If you are ever offered property you suspect to be stolen, decline the offer and report this to your local police office.”
A FOUR-wheel drive dump truck was stolen from a building site near Carfin Road, Newarthill, between 3.30pm on August 22 and 6.30am the following day.

A SET of four alloy wheels were stolen from a Volkswagen parked at Calder Drive, Bellshill, at about 1.40am on August 22.
Three suspects, aged 16-18, were seen there.

A BLACK Volkswagen Golf CT TDI was stolen from Melford Road, Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, between 7.50am and 12.10pm on August 23.
