Motherwell man jailed for carrying knife

A MOTHERWELL man has been jailed for carrying a knife in public.

Kevin McAndrews (26), of Leven Terrace, was found with the weapon in Marian Drive in Carfin on July 8.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Frank Pieri jailed McAndrews for 80 days.

Sentence was backdated to July 9, when McAndrews was detained in custody.
