Firefighters called to Franklyns Bar, Bellshill

FRANKYLN’S BAR in Bellshill was on fire this morning (Tuesday).

At 02:47am Fire engines were called out from Bellshill and Hamilton to deal with the blaze at the Hamilton Road pub.

The crews found the ground floor of the pub to be on fire and they quickly set to work.

No one was in the building during the time of the fire.

A spokesperson said: “Strathclyde Fire and Rescue are currently carrying out an investigation into the cause of the fire.”

An eyewitness described the damage to the pub as ‘very bad’.
