NEW mother Carol Findlay received a full fashion and cosmetic makeover – live on television.
And also in the middle of a major shopping centre.
The 32-year-old mum, from Bellshill, was secretly nominated by her husband Martin to appear on Lorraine Kelly’s LK Today programme.
Millions of viewers saw Carol, who gave birth to a baby girl Lucie 13 weeks ago get a whole new fashion look from Scots-born GMTV fashion guru, Mark Heyes; celebrity hairdresser, James Brown; and make-up artist to the stars, Ciona Johnson.
Carol was taking part in the LK Mobile Makeovers, part of the morning TV programme which was being broadcast live from the Braehead Shopping Centre, near Paisley, last Thursday.
Carol, of Love Drive, Bellshill, said: “It was a bit of a surprise, to say the least, when the Braehead people called me to say I had been chosen to appear live on television getting a makeover.
“It was a bit of a shock and I was nervous and excited at the same time.
“Getting the makeover was fantastic and everyone on the show was so nice.
“It was really, good to be pampered for a while.”
Her husband Martin said: “I put Carol’s name forward for the makeover as she had had quite a long labour with little Lucie.
“Although I didn’t mention that I had nominated her, I knew Carol would like a makeover after all she had gone through.”
Martin added: “I also wanted to say thanks to her for everything that she does for us.”
Mark Heyes said: “Carol was an absolute joy to work with as she is a very pretty lady.
“It was nice to give her a wee bit of pampering after she had given birth a few months ago.
“The programme from Braehead was brilliant.
“In fact, it was one of the best makeovers from the series.”
Braehead marketing manager Lydia Young said: “Carol, Martin and baby Lucie make a lovely family.
“The new mum truly deserved her makeover on television.”
