A QUANTITY of cash was stolen from a house in Carfin Street, New Stevenston, between 9am and 8.30pm on July 5.

A three-figure sum of £1 coins, a three-figure sum of £2 coins and a three-figure sum of £20 notes were taken.

SIX catalytic converters and 300 kilos of copper wire were stolen from Henderson Kerr scrap yard, Kirklee Road, Bellshill, between noon on July 5 and 8am the following day.

JEWELLERY was stolen from a house in Jade Terrace, Bellshill, between 5pm on July 3 and 10.30pm the following day.

A silver bangle, two gold coin rings, a gold ring with “mum” engraved on it , a TV meter box and a Sagem mobile phone were also taken.

A 20-year-old Bellshill man was caught carrying drugs in the town.

At 7.10pm on July 4, at Muirmadkin Road, Bellshill, police stopped and searched a man and found him to be in possession of one Ecstasy tablet and three bags suspected to be Amphetamine. A 20-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal..
