Motherwell man John takes up top bank role

A LANARKSHIRE man has been appointed by the Royal Bank of Scotland to head up their commercial banking operation in the district.

John Jackson (45) will lead 26 staff in the office on Hamilton Road, providing relationship banking to local businesses.

Mr Jackson, from Motherwell, has been with RBS for 28 years, first joining in 1980 after leaving Our Lady’s High School.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, John is a keen golfer at Colville Park and can regularly be seen in the stands at Fir Park.

John lives in Motherwell with his wife Eleanor and their teenage sons, Mark and Scott.

Mr Jackson said: “Being born and brought up in Motherwell, and having spent half my career in Lanarkshire, I have been close to the business community here for some considerable time.

“I’m very much looking forward to heading up the excellent team we have here in Motherwell.”
