Law couple celebrate diamond wedding

A LAW couple have just celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary, surrounded by members of their family.
Annie Thomson was born in 1921 in Cornsilloch and moved to Law Village when she was six. She had two brothers and four sisters.
John Johnston was born in 1918 in Douglas Water and had two brothers and two sisters.
Annie and Johnny met at Law Hospital in 1944 where they both worked, Johnny worked as a porter and Annie as a canteen assistant.
They married on June 19, 1948, at Law Parish Church and have lived all of their married life in Law Village.
They have three daughters and a son, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Johnny worked as an ambulance driver for 25 years before his retirement in 1983. And Annie worked in the Nurses Home until her retirement in 1980.
In their younger years they enjoyed going to car race meetings, and spent many years caravanning and then touring.
