FOUR laptop computers, valued at £400 each, were stolen from Motherwell Library last week.
The thefts, from the open learning room, took place on Tuesday, June 17, between 2.40pm and 17.10pm.
One computer was taken from a desk and the other three were taken from their cases beneath the desk.
The theft included one graphite Hewlett Packard laptop, a white Apple Mac notebook and two black and silver Compac laptops.

POLICE are appealing for information after a Cherokee Jeep was stolen from Milton Street, Motherwell, last week.
The purple vehicle was taken between 11.30pm on June 18, and 4.30am on June 19.
It was later discovered on fire outwith the area.
Police urge anyone who saw or heard the vehicle, or observed suspicious activity, to contact the community police room at Motherwell Police Office or call Crimestoppers.
TWO i-Pods and a TV/DVD player, worth a total of £450, were stolen from a black Vauxhall Corsa on June 16.
The theft took place at around 1.15pm in the car park on Belhaven Terrace, Wishaw.
Anyone who observed suspicious activity in the car park area at this time is asked to contact the community police room at Wishaw Police Office or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A BLACK Ford Escort was taken from Ettrick Street, Wishaw, on June 18.
The theft took place between midnight and 7am last Wednesday.
The vehicle was recovered a short distance away, but a JVC stereo, a collection of CDs and some tools had been removed. If anyone witnessed suspicious activity or observed the vehicle, they are asked to contact Wishaw Police Office or call Crimestoppers.
METAL posts and beams, valued at around £8000, were stolen from the Asset International premises last weekend.
The theft is thought to have taken place between 11.30am and 7.30pm on Sunday, June 15.
Police say the thieves overcame the premises’ security and would have required a large vehicle or lorry to remove the items.
Anyone who observed suspicious activity or witnessed a large vehicle at the premises during the hours stated is asked to contact DC Charles Limond at Wishaw CID.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after plant pots and a hanging basket were stolen from a 73-year-old woman’s garden last week.
The theft took place between 10pm on June 15 and 9am on June 16, in Merry Street, Motherwell.
The woman was upset by the theft, especially as she’d had her garden table and chairs stolen the previous day.
