Hamilton man jailed for assault

A HAMILTON man who punched another man at a Motherwell amusement park while on bail has been jailed for four months.

William Dougal (22), of Low Waters Road, assaulted Marcin Kollataj, an employee at M&D’s in Strathclyde Park, on May 15.

When he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week Dougal admitted punching Mr Kollataj .

Sheriff Danny Scullion said one month of the jail term was due to the offence being committed while Dougal was on bail.

Sheriff Scullion also took into account the 22-year-old’s extensive criminal record which includes three convictions for assault since 2002.
