Brannock Gala Day fun is assured

THE organisers of Brannock Gala Day are making some last-minute preparations before the festivities begin this Saturday, June 21.

The fourth annual event brings together the villages of Carfin, New Stevenston, Newarthill and Holytown with activities for people of all ages.

The Gala Queen is Rachel McCairn from Keir Hardie Memorial Primary, Newarthill.

She will be crowned in an opening ceremony involving Flower Queen Laura Hamilton of New Stevenston Primary, Boy Champion Stephen Byrne from St Theresa's Primary and the Herald Declan Clarke, from St Patrick's Primary School.

At 10.30am the gala parade will leave from Keir Hardie Memorial Primary School and head toBrannock Highl.

The event will be opened by Newarthill boxing sensation Johnny Morrisey

There’s live music from local acts including singers Stuart Nichol and Paul McNally, exciting local band Rebel Diamonds, and the Reeltime Rockers.
