HUNDREDS of school children had their autograph books at the ready for Keith Jack – finalist of the TV show ‘Any Dream Will Do’– who performed at two Lanarkshire schools this week.
Keith, along with The MacDonald Brothers, headlined this year’s successful ‘Choices for Life’ event which saw over 24,000 primary seven pupils descend on the Clyde Auditorium to learn about the important life choices they face as they make the move from primary to secondary school.
As part of the event, the pupils took part in a quiz with the prize of Keith giving a special performance at their school.
He entertained last Friday at High Mill Primary School in Market Road, Carluke, and then the following Wednesday at Dalziel High School in Motherwell.
At the ‘Choices for Life’ 2008 event, key messages about the facts and consequences of bullying, smoking, drinking alcohol or taking drugs were put across to the young people in a fun and interactive manner.
Sergeant John Lannigan of Strathclyde Police, the co-ordinator of the event, said: “We’ve had lots of positive feedback from all the schools that attended the event and we hope that the pupils involved can now make safer and more informed choices as they make their way through life.”
