Fatal accident in Motherwell
POLICE were this week appealing for witnesses after a pensioner died following a road crash in Motherwell on Sunday.
Rodger Toner, 84, of Wishaw, was said to have taken ill at the wheel of his Suzuki Swift while driving along Craigneuk Street at its junction with Shields Road at about 1.50pm.
His car lost control and left the road at Flemington roundabout.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Witnesses are asked to call Motherwell Police Office on 01698 483124.
