POLICE were this week hunting a group of youths who assaulted a 37-year-old man in an unprovoked attack in Motherwell.
According to the police, the incident took place on Bellshill Road, Motherwell, on Tuesday, May 13.
The man was making his way along a footpath shortly after 9pm when he walked past a group of youths.
As he passed one of the group a teenager approached him and attempted to punch him on the face.
Several others in the group then joined the attack and the 37-year-old man fell to the ground where the assault by the gang continued.
Fortunately, the man managed to escape after a short time.
He attended Wishaw General Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
One of the attackers is described as male, aged between 18-25, 5ft 11in with a medium build.
The second suspect, hunted by the police, is described as male, aged 30, 5ft 11in, with a slim build.
The third suspect is described female, aged 16, with a stocky build.
She had a ponytail and was wearing a blue tracksuit with white stripes.
