Libraries to open new chapter for Polish speakers

NORTH Lanarkshire Libraries have introduced a new service aimed at the growing number of Polish speakers now living throughout the area.

The Polish Collection includes translations of bestsellers such as Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, Kim Edwards The Memory Keeper’s Daughter and, for younger readers, the Harry Potter stories and the ever-popular Roald Dahl and Jacqueline Wilson titles.

It also includes a selection of popular contemporary stories by Polish writers.

Input from Polish bookseller Pascal Wawrzyniak, as well as from members of the Polish speaking community, should ensure that the collection has something to suit everyone. Polish Collections are located in 12 libraries throughout North Lanarkshire.

Books can also be requested at any North Lanarkshire library, or online, and delivered to the library of choice free of charge.

For further information about the collections contact Irene Kay on (01236) 618192.
