Kids on course for fun with Steelmen

FOOTBALL-MAD youngsters can join the feel-good factor following Motherwell’s qualification for Europe in several ways this month.

The club are running their holiday coaching programme at Fir Park at the May holiday weekend.

The course will be run on Friday and Monday, May 23 and 26, from 9.30am to 3pm.

It will take place on the club’s astroturf facility and the cost will be £10 per day.

Anyone wishing to book a place or receive more information should call Motherwell’s SFA community officer Bobby Jenks on 01698 338017 or pick up an application form at the stadium ticket office.

The club’s regular coaching programme for children is also expanding, with the opening of two new centres.

The first, at New Stevenston Primary School is for the Mini-Steelmen category (ages three to five) and will start running from Tuesday, May 13.

The session will run from 5pm to 5.50pm each Tuesday, and the first session for anyone joining is free.

The second new centre will run on Sundays at St Aloysius/Chapelhall Primary School from noon to 12.50pm for age three to five, and from 1-2pm for those aged from six to eight.

The centre opens this weekend and, again, children’s first sessions are free.

Anyone requiring information on either centre should call Bobby Jenks on the above number.
