Bellshill Ladies had bite to eat while swimming with tiger sharks

TWO Lanark women decided they wanted a bit of a challenge with some teeth to celebrate National Bread Week.

And Aileen Gilbert (31), and Amelia Findlater (26), certainly plunged to new depths to satisfy their quest.

They choose Deep Sea World in North Queensferry, Fife, for a picnic “bite” with a difference — and two Sand Tiger sharks as company.

The women work at the Bellshill bakery of Warburton’s, currently running a search for top picnic spot.

Warburtons have also challenged their staff to set up picnic events in the most unusual places they possibly can.

After an instruction session with Deep Sea World's qualified diving instructor Tina Aydon, the two Lanark women staked their claim to have held one of the most unusual picnics.

Ian Connell, Warburtons general manager, Scotland, said: “Aileen and Amelia certainly took the challenge to picnic in an unusual place to a whole different level. I have to say that they were very brave to volunteer and, I believe, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”

Aileen added: “We decided that picnics with teddy bears are a bit too safe and wanted to get our teeth into a real challenge for Warburtons National Bread Week. It was an excellent experience, although not the most relaxing picnic we've ever been on.”
