Wishaw BB quartet are the British champions at badminton
The 7th Wishaw Boys’ Brigade team, from St Mark’s Church, Coltness — who were the beaten finalists in the 2007 event — travelled to Newbury to take part in the 2008 competition.
They won their sectional games against East Essex (4-0) and Newtonabbey (4-2), then comfortably beat Polmont 4-0 in an all-Scottish semi- final.
In the final, they beat reigning champions Coleraine 4-0 to win the trophy, which was presented to team captain Alastair Lannigan by Newbury mayor Adrian Edwards.
