POLICE in Motherwell last week made various arrests in relation to drug crimes.
Two men, aged 18 and 26, have been reported to the procurator fiscal after a quantity of controlled drugs were seized from a car on Roman Road, Motherwell.
The incident took place at about 8pm on Friday, April 25.
Cocaine worth a three-figure sum was recovered from inside a car.
Another man, aged 24, was arrested at 11.45pm the same day having been found in possession of a quantity of ecstasy tablets outside the Megabar nightclub, in Brandon Street, Motherwell.
The quantity of tablets seized is valued at a three-figure sum.
The 24-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal.
Police say the incidents are unrelated.
Police also arrested three men aged 19, 20, and 22 on Tuesday, April 22, after the trio were caught carrying cannabis.
The drugs were seized from the men, who were in Strathclyde Park at the time.
Sergeant Russell Jakeway said: “All of these incidents show the commitment of our officers to reduce the amount of drugs on the streets. Proactively targeting suspected drug dealers is a priority. However, possession of controlled drugs is an offence and any person carrying them is running the risk of being arrested.”
