Charity stage 20th annual fun run in Strathclyde Park

THE 20th annual Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association fun run will take place at Strathclyde Park on May 11.

The event has been popular with families, friends, colleges, schools, and running clubs over the years.

Participants can walk, jog or run a four- or six-mile course around the loch.

There will be fantastic entertainment on the day provided by Scottish pipers.

Refreshments, a variety of stalls, and raffles will also be available.

Former Scotland rugby internationalist Scott Hastings, an active patron of the association, will again take part in this year’s event.

He will be presenting trophies to winners in all categories.

Scott said: “I have seen what MND can do to people, having witnessed the impact of the illness upon my late mother-in-law.

“The fun run is a chance to give something back to the Association.”

An entry fee of £10 covers costs. Call the Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association on 0141 945 1077 for entry forms, sponsorship forms or advice about fund-raising.
