Park to host another P7 kids’ safety event

STRATHCLYDE Park is again set to play host to NL Kidz.

The event is run in partnership between Strathclyde Police, British Transport Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, North Lanarkshire Council, NHS Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Child Protection Committee.

It is set up to educate children about the challenges facing them in everyday life.

Subjects covered include drugs awareness, first aid, fire saferty, water safety and safety in the home.

The event is aimed at youngsters in primary seven throughout North Lanarkshire.

Sergeant Russell Jakeway of Strathclyde Police is co-ordinating the event. He said: “This event is an excellent opportunity for children to heighten their awareness of some of the dangers of everyday life.

“It promotes good citizenship amongst this group who will shortly be moving on to secondary education.”

The event begins on February 13 and runs until March 20.
