Drink driver was twice the legal limit

A TEENAGER was caught drink-driving as he made his way home from a function.

Jamie Gaughan (18), of Sunnyside Oaks, Larkhall, was nabbed by police near Loch Lomond.

His breath-alcohol limit was almost twice the legal limit.

At Dumbarton Sheriff Court last Thursday, Gaughan was fined £300 and banned from driving for 12 months.

He had admitted the offence at an earlier court appearance.

Gaughan was stopped by traffic police as he drove a four-by-four jeep belonging to his father, Hamilton building company boss Tom Gaughan, along the A82 about 1pm on May 30.

He earlier attended a family wedding at Luss and left the reception to head back to Hamilton.
