AS thousands of Gers fans headed south, a Larkhall pub has tried to bring a flavour of Manchester to those forced to stay at home.
The Music Room has changed its name to the Rovers Return, Church Street, for the week.
Owner Sarah Cullen, (43), of Robert Smillie Crescent in Larkhall, played ‘Betty Williams, the barmaid in the Coronation Street pub.
Yesterday (Wednesday) staff wore tee-shirts printed with the name ‘Newton and Ridley’, the brewery who supply the Rovers Return.
And a giant Lancashire hotpot was served to regulars not able to travel to Manchester, the setting for the popular soap.
Sarah said on Tuesday: “On the day of the game, everyone who comes into the pub and slightly resembles a character from Corrie will be stuck with the name of that character for the night.
“The hotpot should go down a treat with the hungry lot who will be watching their team on the pub television.”
She added: “We want to bring a flavour of Manchester to our customers.”
Sarah, a big Rangers fan herself, has been running the family-owned pub for seven years.
