Go-ahead wanted for livery stables

COUNCILLORS are being asked to approve plans for a commercial equestrian livery yard in the Upperward.

Plans have been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council for the erection of 11 stables to form a commercial livery yard.

The application also cites the change of use of a derelict farm building to form staff accommodation.

The proposals, for Brownhill Farm, Libberton, have been submitted by Mr and Mrs D. Struthers.

This is among a number of planning applications whic have been made to the council in Lanark recently.

Other new proposals for the Clydesdale area include: erection of service yard, access road and boundary treatment at Biggar High School for InspirED, Morgan Ashurst,

Erection of 2½ storey house and 24.8-metre high wind turbine at Terracotta Nurseries, Cleghorn, for Mr I. Lewis.

Erection of two single-storey extensions to rear and demolition of existing extension, re-thatching of main roof and thatching of other roofs to match at 82 Covington Road, Covington, for Nichola Ryan and Maurice Maguire, 60 Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh.

Erection of full width pitched roof first floor extension to provide additional living accommodation at 1 Foulford Cottages, Lesmahagow, for Mrs Hogg.

Erection of an enlarged dormer to rear of dwelling at 18 Quarry Road, Law, for Mr and Mrs Gordon Stirling.
