Magical history tour at centre

A FREE touring history exhibition about Scottish heritage is at the New Lanark Visitor Centre today (Thursday).

The Forth’s Timeline Exhibition Bus is a free mobile exhibition unravelling 2000 years of Scottish history.

The bus will be at the New Lanark Visitor Centre between 1am and 3pm for one day only.

Inside, visitors will discover one of Scotland’s richest historical areas, the Forth Valley.

The exhibition helps history and art come alive through real artefacts with real-life stories.

A new website for the project, which is found at www.forthstimeline.net is available and an accompanying expert answers questions from budding historians.

Three themes weave through the exhibition, helping visitors explore the Forth Valley’s Timeline and the history of Scotland. These themes are entitled the Landscape of Inspiration, the Power Struggles, and the Crucible of Industry. They link the mobile exhibition to the rich variety of visitor attractions in the Forth Valley.

These attractions include the Antonine Wall, which recently received world heritage status, Callendar House, and the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum.
