‘Harmony’ is back from the future for a blast of her past

A POPULAR time traveller, who has delighted thousands of visitors to New Lanark, has returned to the World Heritage Site.

Sara Brightwell, who plays Harmony, a character from the future, in the Millennium Experience Ride was reunited with her past self from the year 2000.

Sara was 14 years old when the Experience was created, and is now a student at Edinburgh University.

Sara, who is from Edinburgh, and a number of local children were involved in the making of the Experience.

She has fond memories of taking part in the project, recalling: “It was great to come back and visit New Lanark and the Millennium Ride, if not rather surreal.

“Even though I took part in the Project almost 10 years ago, it feels like it was just yesterday. I will always remember how beautiful it is here at New Lanark.”

Using innovative audio-visual technology, the Millennium Experience Ride is a popular and well-loved attraction at the award-winning visitor centre.

The themes of the ride are still as relevant today as they were a decade ago. Visitors are taken on a journey through time with Harmony as their guide.

Harmony embodies the spirit of co-operation and education, which were central to Robert Owen’s ideals of progress and enlightenment for humanity.
