Proposal to convert ex-hotel

A FORMER country house hotel in the Upperward could soon be reverting to its roots, and be re-used as a private home.

Edinburgh-based Oakridge Property Ltd have revealed their proposals for the former Wyndales House Hotel.

The large country house, near Symington, is now the subject of a planning application lodged by the property company with South Lanarkshire Council.

The applicants want planning permission for a change of use of the former hotel, and partial demolition of extensions, to form a dwellinghouse with associated landscape works.

This application is just one of a large number of new building works being proposed in Clydesdale. Other planning applications lodged with the council in Lanark include:

Installation and display non-illuminated pole mounted signage board at former petrol station/garage, Townfoot, Elsrickle, for Haven Homes (Scotland) Ltd., Blackburn Business Park, Blackburn, Aberdeen.

Erection of a single-storey side extension extending to the rear of 10 Green Ferns, Blackwood, for Mr and Mrs G. Maxwell.

Conversion of farm steading buildings to form five dwellings; erection of four single dwellinghouses; and formation of associated access drives, parking and gardens at Carstairs Mains Farm, Carstairs, for Mr Trevor Hamilton.

Erection of 1½-storey rear extension to commercial shop unit and flat above, erection of external access stairs and alterations to existing structure at 85 Carlisle Road, Abington, for David Lindsay.

Erection of single-storey extension to front of dwellinghouse at 34 Carnwath Road, Braehead, for Mr and Mrs Wright.
