Paddington visits school pupils

Paddington's visit to Stanmore House

IT was a case of the ‘bear necessities’ when Paddington visited two Clydesdale schools this week.

The visit was part of the Bring your Bear appeal on behalf of Action Medical Research’s Touching Tiny Lives campaign.

Pictured right with Paddington are members of the P5/7 class at Capability Scotland’s Stanmore House School, Lanark.

The children did this fund-raiser as their young enterprise project, which consisted of a bacon roll day, and Bring your Teddy to see Paddington and bring £1. They raised £115.

Paddington's visit to Clyde Valley Kindergarten

Children from the Clyde Valley Kindergarten, right, took part in this event for the fourth year.

The nursery have donated over £900 in that time. Other schools participating in the fund-raiser are St Mary’s Primary, Lanark, and Braidwood Primary School, Braidwood.

Event organiser Gill Murray would like to thank all schools and nurseries for their kind donations and if any other schools would like to take part, please telephone her on 01555 771816.
