New Gilmourton committee takes the reins at rural

AT last week’s Gilmourton WRI meeting, which took the form of the annual general meeting, president Joan Wilson thanked the three retiring committee members, Jess Brown, Isobel Ramsay and Elizabeth Templeton.

She then welcomed Mary Harkness, Liz McAllan and Helen Young to the new committee.

The Murray Cup was won jointly by Helen Anderson and Violet Fleming and the ‘Sarah Leslie Shield’ was awarded to Marion Hamilton.

Over the summer months several members will be competing in team events at the Agricultural Shows of Newmilns, Biggar, East Kilbride and Fenwick.

Gilmourton WRI’s new session will recommence on Wednesday, September 3.

Members are reminded that the bus for the trip to Scone Palace on May 28, will leave from Station Road promptly at 9.15am.
