House fire kills Carluke man, 55

A MAN died last night in a house fire on Kirk Road, Carluke.

The blaze broke out at around 2050 BST on Thursday night at a bungalow in the town. Fire crews attending the fire entered the house in breathing apparatus, but were unable to save the 55 year-old, who died at the scene.

An investigation has been launched by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, however they said there appears to be no suspicious circumstances.
