KIND-HEARTED Rotarians from Biggar braved unexpected heavy snowfalls during a recent sponsored walk.
Last year’s successful sponsored walk over the Kintyre Peninsula and Isle of Gigha prompted a number of members from Biggar Rotary Club to try another walk.
Earlier this month, they set out for what they thought would be a pleasant walk through the beautiful Spey Valley.
This year a total of 72 miles were covered by the members who took part in various stages of the walk.
They were walking in aid of CLIC Sargent — Caring for Children and Young People with Cancer.
Those taking part in the various walks during the five days included President Bill Gourlay, Mike Chad, Ted Gordon, Norman Ramage and Leslie Reid.
Providing valuable back-up assistance was Norman’s wife Patricia.
During the week’s walks, club members took the opportunity to visit Speyside Rotary Club at the Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore, and learned about the history and renovation work currently being carried out on Castle Grant, the ancestral home of the Clan Grant.

Sponsorship money is currently being collected by members and an announcement regarding the total funds raised for the charity will be made shortly.
