Brakes put on Lanark speedsters

CLYDESDALE MSP Karen Gillon has welcomed a decision by South Lanarkshire Council to review the current speed limit on Lanark’s Hyndford Road. The council review will take place before next March.

Mrs Gillon said: “I have been contacted by a significant number of constituents who are concerned at the speed of vehicles on this road. Residents point to the speed at which drivers enter and leave the town on this particular route where there has been significant new housing developments.”

She added: “I believe there is a compelling case to reduce the speed limit to 30mph and I am hopeful that this review will lead to such a change. “
