PUPILS from Robert Owen Memorial Primary School in Lanark hit the high notes when they took part in a celebration of traditional Scottish singing and song writing.
Pupils (pictured above) attended a 16-weeks project with songwriters John Malcolm and Billy Stewart, learning traditional Scottish songs as well as writing their own songs.
They were then the stars of the show at a celebration of achievement concert at Hamilton Town House attended by parents and carers.
The budding songwriters have also recorded their own original works onto CD with the help and assistance of FPS Media and will each get to keep a copy as a keepsake.
The project has been funded by the Scottish Arts Council's youth music initiative and was planned and organised by South Lanarkshire Council's education resources arts network team.
