South Lanarkshire Council has agreed arrangements for waste uplifts over Christmas and New Year.
With refuse collectors entitled to Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and January 2 off, the authority have had to make some changes to their schedule.
Households who have their bins emptied on Mondays will be uplifted as normal on Christmas Eve and Hogmany.
The Christmas Day collection will be pushed back 24 hours to Boxing Day, with the other collections also being delayed by a day.
That means a collection on Saturday, December 29, for those who have their bins emptied on a Friday.
With two public holidays the week after, all the pick-ups will move back 48 hours except for the Monday.
That will mean the Thursday uplift taking place on Saturday and the Friday one on Sunday.
