A HAMILTON restaurant and takeaway are bucking the economic trends by notching up record sales and creating 10 new jobs.
Mushtaqs restaurant in Almada Street have seen sales soar as temperatures fell this summer.
The firm now employ 40 people at the premises.
Maurice Logie, president of the Lanarkshire Chamber of commerce said: “Mushtaqs have been one of the outstanding business successes in Lanarkshire.
“They should be congratulated on maintaining strong growth during difficult economic times.”
Mushtaqs general manager Harry Thekkada said: “I am excited at the prospect of building this team further by providing an additional 10 new jobs in the local community.
“This will help us maintain our high standards of customer service in line with demand.”
Jobs have been created for chefs, drivers and front-of-house staff.
Mushtaqs, whose chef recently won Scotland’s Chef of the Year Award, are confident that their bigger team will help bring more success and further cement their reputation across Lanarkshire.
