POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were stabbed in Uddingston at the weekend.
The 16-year-old boys were in New Edinburgh Road, near Sanderson Avenue, Viewpark, at midnight on Saturday when they were injured during a row with a group of men.
During the altercation one of the young victims sustained three puncture wounds, one of which narrowly missed an internal organ.
The other teenager sustained a blow to the head and a stabbing injury to his side. Both boys attended Monklands Hospital for treatment, with one being detained overnight.
Police believe the suspects may have come from Bellshill.
A description of one of the attackers has been given as 17 years old, 6’ tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a black hooded top with a white trim around the hood.
Police would also like to hear from a second man who was described as around 17 to 19 years old, 5’11ins tall and of medium build, wearing black clothing.
Bellshill CID are investigating the attack and are asking for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with any information which may assist the inquiry.
