AN UDDINGSTON man has died following a crash on the A9 in Perthshire last week.
Frederick Mollon, of Myrtle Road, Viewpark, passed away in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee on Wednesday, March 2, after the crash at Garry Bridge, south of the Bruar turn off.
Mr Mollon had been driving a white box van lorry when it was involved in a collision with another similar lorry and a white coloured articulated lorry at about 2pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and treated Mr Mollon before he was flown by air ambulance to hospital with what paramedics described as life threatening injuries.
The 62-year-old died in the hospital from his injuries at 10pm that evening.
No one else was injured in the incident, police said.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours after the pile-up to enable crash investigators to carry out investigation work.
Cars and light vehicles were diverted via Blair Atholl and the carriageway re-opened shortly after 9pm.
The accident happened on the same stretch of road where a Montrose man died in a three-lorry collision just under three months ago.
A police spokesman told the Advertiser this week that inquiries into the circumstances of last Wednesday’s serious accidents were continuing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
